// VELOCITY FOREVER! //

The VELOCITY FOREVER has been successfully completed!  Thank you so much for supporting our 3-year campaign to fund the relocation, build out, and equipment upgrades  necessary for Velocity’s new facility at 1621 12th Avenue.  Together we transformed our new space into the epicenter for contemporary dance in the Pacific Northwest.

Your contributions will impact thousands of community members who depend on Velocity for many years to come.

Why the Move?

Since 1996, Velocity Dance Center has been a hub for Seattle’s contemporary dance community. When the 2007 sale of the Odd Fellows Building and a subsequent 300 percent rent increase forced the organization into homelessness, the future of Velocity—and other resident arts groups—appeared bleak. But Velocity responded with a spirited quest for a new home that would serve the community for years to come. To date, the Velocity Forever Campaign has raised $420,000—more than 50 percent of its goal.
