EZRA DICKINSON is a multidisciplinary artist and performer known for his diverse range of mediums, including ceramics, graphic design, painting, sculpture, photography, costume design, video, stop-motion animation, printmaking, woodworking, installation design, movement, dance, choreography, poetry, and acting. His mother, his first dance teacher and mentor, instilled in him a love of creative self-expression from a young age and encouraged ongoing exchange of ideas. This influence has continued to shape his work, which often engages with his mother’s experiences, including her diagnosis with schizophrenia.

Dickinson began dancing at the age of four and later earned a BFA in Dance with an emphasis in choreography from Cornish College of the Arts, where he was the recipient of several scholarships including The Merce Cunningham Scholarship, The Kreielshimer Scholarship, and The President’s Scholarship in Dance. He has danced for independent choreographers and companies such as The New Mystics, HYPERNOVA, The Maureen Whiting Company, and Saint Genet, and is co-artistic director of The Offshore Project and Actually Really.

His work has been presented at venues such as the Seattle Art Museum, On the Boards’ Mainstage, ACT Theater, Henry Art Gallery, 911 Media Arts Center, TEDX Rainier, the Northwest Film Forum, The Moore Theatre, and Velocity’s Next Fest Northwest, as well as on tour at various international festivals. His performance piece “Mother for you I made this,” produced by Velocity’s Made In Seattle program, has received widespread acclaim, and his work “Psychic Radio Star,” commissioned by On the Boards, received National Dance Project funding.
