AUDITION INFORMATION

Selected dancers will receive stipends of $250 each for participation in Bridge Project, 40 hours of rehearsal, and performances at Base.

If you are not able to attend the audition but would like to be considered. Please send a 5 minute video of yourself dancing to shane@velocitydancecenter.org by Oct 30th at midnight.

ABOUT BRIDGE PROJECT

The Bridge Project, part of Velocity’s Residency Programs, is a 6-week residency and performance program for movement-based artists new to making work, or who have been making work in the greater Seattle area for 5 years or less and self-identify as an emerging dance artist, who is interested in mentorship and challenging/deepening their choreographic process. This program offers three choreographers up to 40 hours of rehearsal space each to develop a movement research idea with a cast of up to three local auditioned dancers. The six weeks will culminate with the presentation of a new work in a fully produced weekend of performances at Base Experimental Arts Space in Georgetown. Velocity provides each choreographer with a choreography stipend, performer stipends, costume stipend, and the creative, financial and administrative support during the research and presentation process.

ACCESS INFORMATION

We’ll meet you at the north end of The Factory (through the orange door), which has a ramped entrance. Once inside, Base is accessible by ramp through our front doors. Once the audition begins, please text 206-359-2466 if we are no longer standing by the exterior door.
